1) 22 August Shree Ganesh Chaturthi

ECO-FRIENDLY GANESHA IDOLS

It is also known as Vinayak Chaturthi.It is Hindu festival and all over the India and some province of the world it was celebrated in the occasion arrival of lord Shree Ganeshonthe earth from Kailas Parvat with his mother Goddess Parvati (Gauri).The festival is marked with the installation ofstatue of lord Ganeshclay idols privately in homes and public places.

History:

It was unknown when this festival started. Itis considered as a major social and public event with sponsorship ofChhatrapatiShivaji Maharaja afterMughal Maratha wars. It was popular during 19th century after public appeal by Indian freedom fighter LokmanyaTilak who championed it, as a means to circumvent the colonial British government ban on Hindu gatherings through its anti-public assembly legislation in 1892.

               In Swami Brahmanand Vidyalay teacher did workshop as well astried to makeGanesh idols.Students also tried to make the idols and installment their respective home every year.Our Swami Brahmanand Vidyalay conducted and organized the training session of making Eco-Friendly Ganesh idols made by school students and it was fruitful to everyone. Our school providedshadu clay and givescomplete guidance to students that how to make  complete Ganesh idols (murtis)in school campus. The head master of our school givesgood information about Eco-Friendly Ganesh idols. Before going to vacation of Ganesh Chaturthi, our schools were arrangeda special lectures and seminars on eco-friendly celebration ofGanesh Chaturthi. Our school also celebrated this festival in our school and also offered sweets to students as it is part of our culture and tradition. In this training session andGanesha Sustainability Project, students of 5th to 9th standard participated and made Ganesh idols from shadu clay and it was amazing experience for them.This program was carried out under the guidance and witnessed of our school Res.HeadMaster, coordinator,and allteachers’ staff.

Various bio-degradable materials like ‘Shaadu’ (eco-friendly clay), veg dye, dry flowers, dry twigs, newspapers, etc. were used to sculpt eco-friendly Ganesha idols.September 14, was the precious day for school children’sand it was a source of delightness to everyone.

2) DevshayaniAshadhiEkadashi Celebration–

Warkari Dressing Competition

“AshadhiEkadashi is an auspicious day of God Shri.Vitthal and is a festival of religious procession which is celebrated during the month of June-July every year. As per the Marathi calendar, it is AashadhShuklaPaksha. Peoples consideredeleventh day in every month asEkadashi, with special significance. In our school some of the students from 1st to 9th Std. carry out a Dindi procession on day of AshadiEkadashi. The students wear traditional dresses. Some students play the roles of God Vitthal,Goddess Rukmini and other saints.

On the occasion of this precious day,our school celebrated AshadhiEkadashiand student carry out the palkhi of saintTukarama,DnyaneshwaraMaharaj and enjoyed by playing phugadi and pauli with tals and mrudung.Our Swami Brahmanand Vidyalay conducted and celebrated AshadiEkadashion 12 July2019. This program was witnessed by our beloved school Res.HeadMaster,Coordenater,all teachers staff and participated all students.Students and teachers decoraredthe palkhiof Saint Dnyaneshwarby beautiful flowers and sung devotional songs and VitthalArti,abhang. All the students carried the palkhi of SantDnyaneshwarain a procession all over the school premises the entire school campus reverberated with the chanting of Vitthal Jai HariVitthal. This celebration encouraged the students to participate in the rich cultural traditions of our country to know more about their heritage.Teacher explained the importance of AshadhiEkadashi which was celebrated during 12 July.As per the Marathi calendar, it is AashadhShuklaPaksha.

Our school conducted the Warkari dress competition for the students of all classes.The students wear traditional dresses. Some students play the roles of Vitthal, Rukmini and other saints by wearing dhoti,kurta dresses. The atmosphere was filled with gaiety and spirituality. The aim of this competition was to provide the learning experience an amicable platform for the students to showcase their hidden talents and express themselves with mettle and confidence. Three winners from each class were awardedprize.

3) Fun-Fair

Planning of fun fair in the school is a good platform and guide to the student to show their hidden talents. There are many different ways for a school to participate in the heritage fair program. Ideally, the school fair celebration based on Canadian heritage which includes the entire school and acknowledges the achievements of all students.Although the provincial heritage fair is only open for the students of grades 1 to 9, students of all ages are encouraged to create projects and participate in our School Fair.

Gopalkala one day afterthe birth anniversary of lord Shrikrishna and it was celebrated all over the India.That day boys were maked a pyramid like shape (layer of boys from bottom to top after one another) and they all try to breakdahihandi. Many teams are take part in this celebration to win the prize.

The Dahihandi festival is popular in the Maharashtra state of India and speciallyin Mumbai. It was organized roughly every year in the month of August. The festival also known as Gokulashtami i. e. Krishna Janmashtami.The event involves making a human pyramid and breaking an earthen pot filled with milk, curd, butter, fruits and water which is hung at a convenient height, thus imitating the actions of child Krishna.
This festival of Dahihandi is also celebrated in our school. The student’s willingly participate in the program by wearing traditional dresses and carry out the role of Radha-Krishna.

Dahi-Handi festival is one of the festive events and a team sport during the Hindu festival Gokulashtami, which is also known as Krishna Janmashtami and celebrates the birth of Krishna.DahiHandi festival is celebrated every August/September, the day after Krishna Janmashtami. It involves communities hanging an earthen pot filled with dahi (yogurt) or other milk-based delicacy, at a convenient or difficult to reach height. Young men and boys form teams, make a human pyramid and attempt to reach or break the pot.

6) Independence Day:

15th August India's Independence Dayi

India’s Independence Dayis annually celebrated on 15th August as independence coincided with the partition of India.Onthis day flag hoisting ceremonies and cultural programs take place in governmental and non-governmental institutions throughout the country including schools and colleges. Swami Brahmanand Vidyalay carried out different activities like instrumental as well as non-instrumental P.T. While some students delivered their talk on life history of some great peoples, leaders who sacrifices their whole life for India.

7) 26thJanuary Republic Day

The constitution was adopted by the Indian constituent assembly on 26th November 1949 and actually effectivefrom 26th January 1950 with a democratic government systemcompleting the country transition towards becoming an independent republic.26th January was chosen as the date for republic day because on this day in 1929 when the declaration of Indian Independence (purna-swaraj)was proclaimed by the Indian National Congress as opposed to the dominion states offered by the British Regime.

The main program of Republic Day celebration was held in the national capital New Delhi, at Raj path. Our Swami Brahmanand Vidyalay also celebrated this day by carrying different activities as follws-

21st June international yoga day celebrated in our school.There are so many activities carried out by teachers.

9) 2nd October Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti

Swachh Bharat Mission Activity

Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti is an event celebrated in India to mark the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. It is celebrated annually on 2 October, and it is one of the three national holidays of India. The UN General Assembly announced on 15 June 2007 that it adopted a resolution which declared that 2 October will be celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence.

Gandhi Jayanti is an event in India to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It is celebrated annually on 2nd October to honored Mahatma Gandhi for his vital role in Indian Independence. In our Ramchandra Naik School we celebrated Mahatma Gandhi birth anniversary by doing cleaning of school and taking drama competition of students.

10) RajarshiShahuMaharaj Birth Anniversary

26thJune was celebrated as ChhatrapatiRajarshiShahuMaharaj Birth Anniversary. On this day our school took a good handwriting competition

13) First Term Craft Activity

Beforefirst term exams,teachershad taken different craft activity including making of earthen pots, fruits, and someof the showcasethings. Like flower pots, pen stands, wallpaper. Our students actively participated in itand enjoyeda lot in these activities. Every yearwe took art craft activities for our students.

14) 28th February: National Science day

-Science Exhibition

This day recalls the notable invention “Raman Effect” by India’s greatest scientist C V Raman. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for this discovery. Since that day, February 28 is being commemorated as National Science Day to recall the great discovery of CV Raman.

28th February is celebrated all over in India as a National Science Day. Everywhere in schools, colleges it was celebrated. Purpose of celebration of this day is to motivate the students towards science field the experiment which were carried out in it. Students are very curious to see the practical demonstrations and easily handled the experimental material. Students are capable to guess and to overcome on conclusion of everything which happens in our surroundings. In our school we all teachers taking efforts to arrange the Science Exhibition and students also tried to participate in it and they present their experiment

15) Diwali- Deepawali

This festival were celebrated all over the India. Teacher gaves information about its importance. Diwali’s 1st day is vasubaras,2ndday is Dhantrayodashi, 3rdday Narkchaturdashi- Laxmipoojanand 4thday is BalipratipadaDeepawaliPadvaBhaubeej.

Every class teacher taught in their class regarding craft activity of Lantern (Diwali Lamp) and student makes different variation of lantern.

17) Rangotsav:

The aim of the drawing competition is to engage children in a creative exercise to identify their hopes and dreams of the future. It allows complete self-expression and supports to their creativity and innovative ideas expressed through art.In this competition all studentare participated and they enjoyed painting in the open ground.Here is what we’ve learned through experience about why arts integration is so important? Working in the art field helps learners to develop their creative problem-solving skills. Art instruction helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness.

In our Swami Brahmanand Vidyalay every year last session we doorganize drawing activity.This activity divide in two groups 1st group is 1-4 and 2nd group is 5thto 9thStd. In 1st group the students only colouredthe pictures, which was provide by school and in 2nd group, the students draw their own picture and coloured it. Thereis different subject for every class. Studentsare very excited to take part in this competition every year.
